The student submits chapter after chapter to the study leader / promoter. After all possible commentary from the study leader/promoter of a chapter has been satisfactorily dealt with the student may then proceed to the next chapter.

A PhD student must prepare an article, based upon his / her thesis and submit the same for publication by an accredited journal.

An M-student is also encouraged to submit an article for publication to an accredited journal, based upon his / her mini-dissertation / dissertation.

For any student requests that have to be brought to the attention of the Faculty Advisor (Lee Trollip), a student request form must be completed and submitted to the M&D Office.

Three months before submission for examination a “Notification of Submission” document must be completed and sent to PostGrad-EnquiriesPOTCH@nwu.ac.za so that they can verify compliance with the title registration and inform the examiners timeously.

Academic administration will also forward all the information and documents necessary for the submission as soon as they receive the “Notification of Submission” form.

Submissions for the graduation ceremony in May month must be submitted before the middle of November and submission for the graduation ceremony in September, before the end of April.

The student is responsible for the professional language editing of his/her manuscript. A list of accredited language editors is available at www.translators.org.za.

A solemn affirmation must accompany the submission for examination.

PhD students must also submit their CV as well as a Personal Details document.

Each student’s final manuscript will be submitted to Turnitin by the study leader/promoter, so as to test for plagiarism. The Turnitin report will be sent to the academic administration.
